Hideo Kojima showcases Death Stranding at Gamescom and a surprise appearence

In a nice surprise for everyone both in the audience and watching Gamescom live from the comfort of their homes. Hideo Kojima appeared on stage to showcase two new character trailers for his upcoming game Death Stranding.

Death Stranding: Mama (Margaret Qualley) Character Trailer – Via IGN

The first trailer show’s off Margaret Qualley’s Mama character and her ghost baby’s interaction with Norman Reedus’s Sam. It’s all beautifully shot and getting to see more of the motion capture in action still leaves me reeling on what Kojima is creating. The second trailer is meant to explain the Bridge Baby or BB for short. Really I’m just more confused but that’s how Kojima games are, you can’t really expect to see the Mona Lisa with just a single puzzle piece.

The surprises didn’t end there as presenter Geoff Keighley and the audience called for gameplay. Kojima promised the big gameplay reveal would be at TGS ( Tokyo Game Show ) but had something to share just for Gamescom.

That’s right! Geoff Keighley who is most likely the President of the Hideo Kojima Fan Club and friend to said Creator is in the game. He’s just one of the cameo’s in the game for players to find. Of course this is nothing but a sample to wet the palette before TGS in September.

Death Stranding is set to release November 8th on PS4. Keep an eye out as I post more before the big release.
