Welcome to Gaming Grind, a video game blog all about grinding down all that gaming info to deliver news, articles and reviews to you.

Who’s the person behind the screen? My names Blair Findlay and I’m passionate about games and that passion lead me to undertaking a Bachelor of Games and Interactive Design and then continuing with a Honours of Arts and Design. I specialised in 3D modelling but have a thorough understanding of Game and Level design. I also gained a deep appreciation of programmers during my time of study, as I have no skill with code whatsoever.

Will you enjoy what I write? What’s important to people when they read reviews or articles is finding a writer who might share a similar opinion or thoughts when it comes to video games.

I play a large variety of games, from shooters to action games and even a racer every now and then. My favourite genres that I tend to lean towards are open world, shooters (mainly of the loot variant), action/adventure and strategy. I have played horror games in the past and enjoy some horror elements in my games, Resident Evil is one of my favourite series, but I’m not really into the body horror stuff or over the top horror. I also have been a part of the growing Battle royal genre, I was one of the early adopters of PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds) and have watched the genre grow to become something that has changed the video game industry. I don’t keep up with all of them but am interested in how the genre keeps growing and changing.

I try to be open and play most games, but my enjoyment is a factor when I review or write about a topic. So just keep that in mind if I don’t cover something. Saying that if there is something you think I should have a look at just let me know about it. I avoided the Souls series for so long because of how hard people told me it was, it is now one of my favourite series.

I play on PS4, PC and switch (sorry Xbox players). Most of the time I will play on my PC (which you can check out in the PC Setup page), but if I play on a different platform I will let you know to help set expectations. I do try to experience everything a game has to offer. This means I will take my time and as I am only one person, articles or reviews may take longer to come out or games might be moved back in the queue to give me time.

So if this all sounds like something you’d like to be a part of, then keep your eyes out for what I write next or catch up on what I’ve already written. Remember at the end of the day we are all gamers and this is all for the purpose of enjoyment, so get out there and start grinding.
