I had this built back in 2017 so I could get into PC gaming. I had a Asus gaming laptop but it wasn’t the most powerful thing out there and I needed an upgrade if I was going to get into the scene. When I went into the build my thinking was to have a PC I wouldn’t need to tinker with and upgrade constantly. In the two years I’ve had my PC it has power though everything and has kept consistent in it’s performance, which is all I could ask for my first PC.
Recently I’ve been thinking about upgrading certain parts so I can make some improvements on things I held back on when I first built it. A concern is space, files get larger and so do the games, especially if you take into consideration all the updates and DLC. So I’ve been thinking about updating either or both my HDD/SSD so I don’t have to worry about space and can just download all the games till I run out of space again…… ahh maybe not all the games. To add to my thoughts about upgrading I’ve been thinking about streaming, with my current build it wouldn’t be possible but if I got a new CPU (possible a i9). It would open up that possibility to stream on the side as well. But a new CPU would mean a new motherboard and that’s a lot to mess with without giving it some thorough thought. The possibility of building a second PC for streaming also exists but it would be a lot of work to get it all set up. Those are my thoughts on upgrades to my build, there are other parts I could upgrade, like my GPU but the 1080 is amazing. Until I decide on what to do about streaming, the 2080’s codec isn’t really appealing to me and RTX hasn’t been fully utilised or adapted to a level I find it a must have for visual quality.
So that’s my setup, it formed in bits and pieces and has become one of my most cherished possessions.
